Tassels
Tassels are a decoration commonly found on the academic dress of university graduates. They are attached to the graduator's gown or sometimes to a hood and dangle from the front and rear edges. And it is typically made from silk, cotton or ribbon material. It has been speculated that tassels were first worn as a talisman against evil spirits, but this theory is unproven.
