Jade Beads and Its Types
Jade beads that are found in markets come from mines located in Myanmar, China, and Siberia. These mines have produced spherical, cylindrical, and rectangular shapes of jade beads. The material used for these beads is usually polished and cabochon (cut with a convex dome) forms of jasper. The two types of jadeite are called nephrite and actinolite. Nephrite is much more common than actinolite; it has a green tinge to it while actinolite is green with another color mixed into it (i.e. white or black). Nephrite is the stone from which jade beads are made.
