Carnelian Beads
Carnelian beads are also used in jewelry making especially with the popularity of African beads. This stone is known to be a fiery orange color and when polished, it shines. It is one of the most popular beads for necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Many jewelers also use this stone to make headdresses that are worn during religious ceremonies, particularly at Catholic services. These beads are often given as gifts during Christmas to remember the birth of Jesus. Most Catholics believe that a relic of St Joseph or Mary would be placed in the beads as a sign of faith and devotion. Other items that are often put into these beads are rosaries and crosses.
